Kenzie's Kitchen, operated by Mama Tess Pty Ltd, is a well-regarded local dining venue located in Kensington, Western Australia. The cafe restaurant is known for offering freshly prepared meals made from quality ingredients and delivering a welcoming dining experience for the local community. Due to continued business growth and increasing customer demand, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.

The Chef will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals while ensuring kitchen operations run efficiently. The role requires strong culinary skills, the ability to maintain high food safety standards, and the capacity to work collaboratively within a busy kitchen environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Preparation, cooking, and presentation of food as per the menu
• Strong emphasis on quality, consistency of dishes 
• Passion for quality output in an efficient time frame 
• Creative & skills in menu preparation, design, planning, and costing 
• Ability to handle large service numbers
• Train and manage cooks and kitchen staff
• Achieving all safety, hygiene, and food quality.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas
• Implement proper food storage, freezing and preservation techniques to maintain food quality and minimise waste.
• Should be able to manage daily kitchen operations, including ordering, receiving, and checking kitchen supplies.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

• Relevant qualifications 
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen environment
• Ability to work under pressure 
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
• Proactive, energetic and shares a passion for the hospitality industry 
• Effective communication skills
