About the role Andrew Walter Constructions (AWC) is seeking an experienced Foreperson to join our team in the Hobart area on a full-time basis.  This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the day-to-day supervision and delivery of civil construction works.  You will coordinate people, plant, subcontractors and site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and to a high standard.  Key responsibilities: Lead and supervise site crews, allocating tasks to ensure timely and efficient delivery of works Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to meet project requirements Interpret job specifications, plans and project requirements and ensure works are completed accordingly Work closely with the Project Managers and Project Engineers to complete projects on time and to specification Provide clear direction and leadership to site crews Monitor project progress and performance and provide regular updates to management Identify and resolve site issues, using sound judgement and practical problem-solving skills Mentor and develop junior workers, sharing your expertise and fostering their growth What we are looking for: Experience (5+ years) as a Foreperson in the construction industry Strong practical knowledge of civil works and site operations Experience leading and coordinating site crews The ability to read and understand plans, specifications and project requirements Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors and internal teams Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Commitment to safety and quality and industry best practice A positive, hands-on approach and the ability to work as part of a team What we offerAWC are committed to providing a supportive and rewarding work environment for our employees.
