About the RoleThe Agri Technician provides technical support across the livestock operation, working closely with the Farm Manager and Agronomists to achieve optimal farming outcomes.Key responsibilities:<ul><li>Cattle health: Monitor the health and welfare of cattle; identify and treat illnesses and injuries; administer vaccinations; monitor nutritional needs; and implement preventative measures to keep the herd healthy.</li><li>Feeding and nutrition management: Monitor feed consumption and adjust rations to ensure proper nutrition and optimal growth; prepare and distribute feed rations to nutritional requirements; and assist in developing and implementing feeding programs for different age groups and production stages.</li><li>Record-keeping: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of cattle inventories, including individual identification, weights and health treatments; and assist in data analysis to identify trends, inform management decisions and optimise herd productivity.</li><li>Facility maintenance and repairs: Maintain cattle facilities including fencing, equipment and water systems; ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness of housing areas; and conduct regular inspections of infrastructure to identify and address maintenance or repair needs.</li></ul>Experience and Skills Required<ul><li>At least 3 years' experience in a similar role</li><li>Effective communication skills</li><li>Relevant agricultural certifications will be highly regarded</li></ul>Only genuine applicants will be contacted.
