The Transport Workers’ Union (TWU) is seeking a Legal/Industrial Officer to join our Queensland team.

We are looking for experienced, skilled, and dynamic staff who have worked in either union organising and/or campaigning to join our Queensland organising team.

Member Support & Administration Officer  The Transport Workers’ Union of Australia (TWU) is one of Australia’s leading campaigning trade unions, holding some of the biggest companies in the world to account over their treatment of workers, such as Qantas, Amazon and the supermarket giants.  The TWU is seeking a Member Support & Administration Officer to assist the day-to-day functions of a dynamic Member Services Centre.  A competitive salary is on offer to the successful candidate.    The successful candidate:  Strong data entry skills and attention to detail  Exceptional interpersonal skills with a strong emphasis on member service and professional phone etiquette  Proactive and self-driven approach to work, capable of managing multiple demands in a dynamic role  Proficiency in using a variety of IT programs and applications, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Microsoft programs and external websites as required for the role  As a people person, you will be service-driven, a team player and happy to roll up your sleeves to support internal and external stakeholders  Commitment to labour values  Primary responsibilities: Maintain accurate records of member interactions and membership information, including comprehensive data entry tasks such as creating membership profiles, updating contact information, payment records, workplace details, and any other pertinent information  Provide exceptional support to our members and extend the same level of support to all relevant stakeholders through a diverse range of communication channels, including phone, email, written correspondence, and occasionally face-to-face interactions, demonstrating empathy for the various challenges workers may face in their employment relationship  Liaise with delegates, and assist with arrangements and logistics for delegate training sessions  Assist with general administrative duties and office support  Collaborate with team members to handle ad-hoc tasks as required  Promote and assist in organising union events and campaigns designed to enhance member engagement and participation  This is a full-time position, based at our Murarrie office in Brisbane.
