We are seeking a skilled welder to join our team. The role involves interpreting technical drawings, preparing materials, and performing high‑quality MIG, TIG, and stick welding on a variety of metal components. You will be responsible for cutting and shaping metal, assembling parts with precision, and ensuring all welds meet strict safety and quality standards. The position also includes equipment maintenance and repair work on existing structures. Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential.
Benefits
You’ll enjoy a supportive workplace that values your contribution, with salary packaging options designed to maximise your take‑home pay, competitive superannuation to strengthen your long‑term financial security, and a strong rewards and recognition program that celebrates performance, dedication, and continuous improvement.
Task & responsibilities
- Interpreting technical drawings and specifications: Our tradespeople thoroughly analyse engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to identify required materials, dimensions, and fabrication details. This ensures every project is delivered to precise technical and safety standards.
- Preparing and processing raw materials: We select the appropriate metals and materials, then clean, cut, and prepare surfaces to create ideal welding conditions. Proper preparation reduces impurities and enhances weld strength and durability.
- Cutting, shaping, and forming components: Using advanced cutting torches, plasma cutters, and power tools, we accurately cut metal sections to the required shapes and sizes. Components are then bent, rolled, or formed with mechanical and manual equipment to achieve exact tolerances and structural accuracy.
- Assembling and aligning parts: Our skilled fabricators position and align components using jigs, clamps, and precision measuring tools. This ensures all assemblies are straight, balanced, and structurally reliable before welding.
- Executing high‑quality welding operations: Qualified welders apply techniques such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding to join metal sections according to material type, joint design, and strength requirements. Each weld is performed with precision to meet project specifications.
- Inspecting and testing weld quality: Welds undergo visual and dimensional inspection to confirm uniformity, penetration, and accuracy. We follow strict quality assurance procedures to ensure all joints meet internal standards and client expectations.
- Finishing and surface treatment: After fabrication, components are refined through grinding, polishing, filing, and chemical cleaning. These finishing processes improve appearance, corrosion resistance, and overall product quality.
- Maintenance and repair services: Beyond fabrication, we also maintain and repair existing metal structures and equipment. Our team performs weld repairs, re‑fabrication, and component replacement to extend the lifespan of industrial assets
