Tabatinga Tweed Heads is seeking an energetic, hands-on, and customer-focused Venue Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our vibrant indoor Fun & Social Centre, located within Seagulls Club.

Tabatinga provides a fun, safe, and engaging environment for children aged 0 - 12 years, while also creating a welcoming space for parents and carers to relax and enjoy quality food and café offerings. About the Role

As Venue Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in the day-to-day operations of the venue, ensuring smooth service delivery across the play centre, café, kitchen, and party/event areas. You will lead by example, support and develop team members, and maintain high standards in customer service, presentation, cleanliness, and safety.

The role requires a proactive and adaptable individual who can confidently manage busy operational periods while maintaining a positive and professional atmosphere for guests and staff alike.

Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, applicants must demonstrate:

· Exceptional customer service skills with a warm, professional, and empathetic approach

· Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing, motivating, and developing teams

· A minimum of 1-2 years of formal management or supervisory experience leading teams

· Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills

· The ability to work independently, proactively, and effectively under pressure

· The ability to work a flexible roster across a 7 day period, including the opening and closing of Tabatinga. Full availability is required, including but not limited to weekends, public holidays, all school holidays, as well as potentially being called in on unexpectedly busy days (rainy days)

· Previous experience in staff recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management

· Minimum 2 years' experience within a hospitality, café, or kitchen environment

· Experience supervising busy café and kitchen operations, including hands-on operational support

· Minimum 2 years' barista experience

· Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety procedures

· The ability to engage positively with guests of all ages, from toddlers to grandparents

· Confidence in resolving customer concerns professionally and efficiently

· High personal presentation standards and professional communication skills

· Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

· Flexibility to work across a seven-day roster, including weekends, evenings, public holidays, and school holidays

· Availability for occasional short notice shifts during peak trading periods

· National Child Safety Training (or willingness to obtain)

· Current NSW Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)

· First Aid and CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain)

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

The following will be highly regarded:

· Previous Management/Supervisor experience

· Food Safety Supervisor Certificate

· Experience working within children's entertainment, family venues, or recreation environments

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

· Supervising the daily operations of the Tabatinga Play Centre

· Managing café and kitchen operations, including food preparation, ordering, stock control, food safety, and cleanliness

· Preparing and adjusting staff rosters in line with business requirements

· Preparing, organising and executing promotional

· Leading, mentoring, and supporting team members

· Delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring positive guest experiences

· Coordinating children's parties, functions, and school holiday activities

· Responding to customer enquiries via phone and email

· Ensuring venue presentation, cleanliness, and safety standards are consistently maintained

· Liaising with the Tabatinga Brand Manager, Brand Founders, Tabatinga OOSH Manager and Club Management

· Assisting with the OOSH (Out of School Hours) program on a daily basis

· Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing positively to team culture
