About the role

Prace is seeking a skilled and values-driven Trainer and Assessor to deliver and assess FSK20119 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways through the SEE Program.

The program, known as Café Connect, supports participants to develop foundation skills, language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy, employability skills and vocational pathway skills in hospitality, retail and customer service contexts.

Key responsibilities

The Trainer and Assessor will:

  • plan, deliver and assess inclusive foundation skills, LLND, employability and vocational pathway training

  • contextualise training and assessment to hospitality, retail and customer service settings

  • develop session plans and learning activities based on participant needs, goals and ACSF/DLSF levels

  • conduct SEE Program Pre-Training Assessments, including initial interviews and approved ACSF/DLSF assessment processes

  • conduct and report Progressive Assessments in line with SEE Program requirements

  • monitor attendance and communicate with relevant staff where participants are absent or at risk of disengagement

About you

You will be an experienced trainer and assessor with strong adult education practice and a commitment to supporting learners 17 to 24 years of age who may have experienced barriers to education, employment or training.

You will bring the ability to build respectful, supportive learning relationships and to deliver practical, engaging training that helps participants build confidence, work-readiness and pathway options.

Qualifications and experience

The successful applicant will have:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40122 or successor

  • relevant hospitality, retail and/or customer service qualifications and/or industry experience

  • TAESS00009 Address Foundation Skills in Vocational Practice Skill Set or equivalent, or a higher-level adult LLND, education or TESOL teaching qualification

  • recent experience teaching and assessing language and/or literacy

  • sound knowledge of the Australian Core Skills Framework, including performance features at the levels being assessed

  • demonstrated ability to undertake SEE Program Pre-Training Assessments, Progressive Assessments and related participant documentation

  • strong organisational skills and the ability to meet assessment, attendance, participant file, SEE System and RTO reporting timeframes

  • confidence using relevant computer applications and learning platforms, including Microsoft Apps, Google Workspace / Google Classroom, video conferencing software and SEE/RTO systems as required.

Employment conditions

This is a fixed-term, part-time position commencing 29 June 2026. Hours, days and end date will be confirmed in line with course delivery requirements.

Employment is subject to a satisfactory Police Check and Working with Children Check. A Certificate in First Aid is desirable.
