The Role
Bottrell Accounting & Taxation are recruiting for a Trainee Accountant role at East Maitland

This role would suit Accounting, Commerce, Finance or Business student’s looking to begin their professional accounting career. Obtain real-life experience!

Opportunity to work Part-Time or Full Time depending on your university requirements (Working between 3 to 5 days).

Our business operations are Monday to Saturday, an opportunity to work days that fit in with your University & Personal requirements.

The job will include exposure to various taxation, accounting, bookkeeping & business systems.

On the job training with current cloud-based software applications Xero, MYOB, Quickbooks etc. 

Study Support will be provided for University. 

Opportunity to progress to CA or CPA or Financial Planning.

Key Responsibilities
Services for clients include:

• Preparation of Individual Tax Returns 

• Client Accounting

• Client Bookkeeping.

• Preparation of Activity Statements (GST/PAYGW/PAYGI).

• Assisting in relation to clients' Bookkeeping software – Xero, MYOB or Quickbooks.

• Assisting Accountants with the preparation of business financial statements and tax returns.

• Client Support including Phone Calls, Emails & Coordinate Documents.

• Correspondence with the Australian Taxation Office, ASIC & Government Agencies

Skills & Experience

• University  

  • Commenced University – Accounting, Commerce, Finance or Business.

  • University progress – Started to 3 years completed.

• Soft Skills

  • Team Player & Positive Attitude.

  • Polite, friendly, and well presented

  • A strong working ethic with a can-do attitude

  • Honesty, integrity, and professionalism.

• Technology

  • Office 365, Word, Excel & Outlook.

  • Xero or MYOB Experience would be helpful (Not required)
