Tourism Ireland is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Trade Marketing Specialist to join the team.
The purpose of the role is to plan and implement a targeted programme of B2B industry platforms, business partnerships and trade marketing activities in line with Tourism Ireland’s strategic objectives. To expand the island of Ireland’s distribution footprint by developing and maintaining effective relations with key Australian travel trade partners in order to deliver sustainable holidaymaker growth

This is a full-time position with annual remuneration between $75,000 - $95,000 plus superannuation depending on experience.
Task & responsibilities
- Plan, implement and evaluate an innovative and outcome-focused programme of marketing platforms for in-market travel trade and island of Ireland industry partner participation, to include digital communications, in-market and virtual workshops and events and webinars. Ensure all activity aligned with priority consumer segments and business priorities to increase visitor revenue and increase regional and seasonal growth
- Identify opportunities with both new and existing tour operators, retail agencies and consortiums to re-build and optimise the range of island of Ireland product in marketplace.
- Develop and execute an effective travel trade communications programme, including webinars for travel agents, the ongoing development of the trade website, regular trade e-zines, the delivery of tailor-made presentations and event management both on and offline.
- Work with Marketing Manager to develop and deliver co-operative marketing campaigns with key accounts in line with guidelines to generate incremental visitor revenue to the island of Ireland leveraging key platforms, channels and partners.
- Develop, implement, manage and evaluate Consumer Partnership Programme and other tactical sales conversion initiatives for trade partners. Collaborate with Digital Marketing Executive and media agency to develop, monitor and optimise integrated digital media campaigns designed to generate third party referrals.
- Organise and coordinate Australian trade participation in annual workshops on the island of Ireland as well as educational/familiarisation opportunities for top tier key Australian accounts.
- Monitor and report on all travel trade marketing activities and ensure the Industry Opportunities website is kept up-to-date with relevant opportunities
- On an ongoing basis, monitor market trends and intelligence/competitor activities to assist the Marketing Manager and organization in reporting and planning. Provide industry partners and stakeholders with market intelligence as required.
Qualification & experience
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 2 years related experience
- Experience and track record of achievement in the areas of digital marketing, database management and promotions management. Experience within the Australian travel and tourism sector would be a distinct advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of the Australian travel trade landscape and relevant key account management and B2B marketing experience in a travel environment.
- Good working experience and knowledge of business development and key account management. A record of achievement in working and building relationships with key partners and delivering results.
- A self-starter with the ability to drive innovation and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a busy, ever-changing environment.
- A good team player with strong interpersonal skills, a proven ability to work as part of a small team and to build and manage effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Strong IT skills including MS Office, Internet, CMS tools and email tools.
- Budget management experience and demonstrable attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
