About TOMNET:
TOMNET (The Older Men’s Network) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of older men through social connection, community involvement, and peer support. TOMNET has an established and successful service operating in the Lockyer Valley, supporting older men to build connection, purpose, and belonging across the region. Building on this strong foundation and proven track record, we are now seeking a passionate and experienced Program Manager to lead and further strengthen our Lockyer Valley service.
About the Role:
As the Program Manager for TOMNET in the Lockyer Valley (specifically Gatton, Laidley, and Glenore Grove), you will play a key role in managing our operations in the region. With the support of our Toowoomba TOMNET Centre, you will oversee the delivery of core programs, including social activities, volunteering, community outreach, and information, advice and referral services for older men aged 50+. Hours are 8:30 am to 12:30 pm Monday to Thursday (16 hours per week).
This role requires regular travel within the Lockyer Valley, with time spent in the region approximately two to three days per week, or as operationally required, to effectively engage with participants, volunteers, and community partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Implementation and Delivery: Implement and oversee TOMNET’s programs in the Lockyer Valley, ensuring they meet the needs of our members, the local community, and align with our mission. Foster connection and engagement among older men to reduce social isolation and loneliness.
Stakeholder and Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with local stakeholders, including community groups, service providers, local Council and Government agencies, to promote TOMNET’s services and identify opportunities for collaboration.
Volunteer Management: Recruit and support volunteers who are essential to the delivery of TOMNET’s aged care, intergenerational and multicultural volunteering programs.
Evaluating, Reporting and Compliance: Monitor and evaluate program outcomes and comply with policies, procedures and legal requirements.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience in Program Management: Demonstrated experience in managing community programs or services and volunteers, ideally within the not-for-profit sector.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and build lasting relationships.
Passion for Community Work: A genuine commitment to improving the lives of older men and a deep understanding of the challenges they face.
Organisational Skills: Strong organisational, time management and computer skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Please note: It is a requirement of this role that you must possess or have the ability to obtain a Working with Children (Blue Card) and a National Criminal History Check. You must also hold a current Driver’s License and be willing to travel within the Lockyer Valley region.
Why Join TOMNET?
Meaningful Work: Make a real difference in the lives of older men in the community.
Supportive Environment: Join a passionate and dedicated team committed to social impact.
Growth Opportunities: Be part of a growing organisation with opportunities for professional development.
Community Focus: Work in a role that allows you to engage directly with the community and see the tangible results of your efforts.
