Your excellent language skills will provide you with an opportunity to speak to our customers and KNAPP colleagues across the globe. If you love gathering, filtering, and sharing information, working with various tools and programs and being the first point of contact for our customers for any reported incidents, you will excel in this role.

In this role, you are responsible for live interpretation/live communication between our customers in their respective languages (German in your case) and our ServiceDesk team in English to provide timely and excellent support.

The working hours for this role will change between 6 am – 2 pm (AEST winter), 7 am – 3 pm (daylight savings interval) and 8 am – 4 pm (AEST Summer), depending on daylight savings and time differences to Europe.

Task & responsibilities

A typical day for you could look like this:

  • Answer incoming ServiceDesk calls in German and take down the issue description,
  • Use your fluency in German and English to act as the interpreter between customers and the technical ServiceDesk team to ensure a prompt and efficient resolution of technical incidents,
  • Appropriately prioritise incidents following consultation with the customer and the ServiceDesk team,
  • Provide status updates to customers on the status of more complex and time-consuming issues in the respective language,
  • Initiate outbound calls in the respective language to gather additional information if issue descriptions are incomplete,
  • Manage customer onboarding in their respective language and help them get familiar with our customer platform,
  • Assist customers in navigating through our customer platform,
  • Act as the customer's first point of contact for escalation management,
  • Translate written correspondence (e.g. emails, incident reports, etc.) and provide proofreading support, etc.

Qualification & experience

  • You have a Master's degree or similar in translation or interpreting,
  • You speak German fluently,
  • You have excellent English language skills,
  • You speak any of these as a third language fluently – Spanish or French
  • You've got a drive to acquire a deep understanding of the workflow processes of the KNAPP warehouses, our products and terminology,
  • You've got solid IT skills and basic knowledge of applicable department tools and software such as MS Office, Outlook, SAP, Trados, etc.,
  • Curious and solutions-focused mindset,
  • You are excited to work in an international team
  • Desire to collaborate, learn from others and share knowledge.
