Hybrid role: Team Leader/ Experienced Disability Support Practitioner:
30–35 Hours Per Week | Casual Position with Pathway to Permanency | Immediate Start Available
Are you an experienced Team Leader/Disability Support Practitioner looking for the next step in your career while remaining hands-on with participants?
ABCARE Disability Support is seeking a passionate, experienced, and motivated professional to join our growing team in a unique hybrid role that combines leadership, administration, and direct participant support.
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside management, mentor and support a team of dedicated support workers, and continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of people living with disability.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Working flexibly between administrative duties in the office and hands on duties supporting our participants.
This position offers the perfect balance between office-based administration and hands-on participant support. You will work closely with management to ensure the delivery of high-quality services while helping foster a positive, supportive workplace culture.
No two days are the same. You may be coordinating services, assisting with rostering, supporting staff, monitoring participant budgets, or providing direct support to participants in their homes and the community.
Initially, this role will commence on a casual basis during the probation period, with the opportunity for permanent employment for the right candidate.
ABOUT YOU:
You are an experienced support professional who thrives in a leadership role while remaining passionate about providing direct support to participants.
You are organised, adaptable, solution-focused and enjoy supporting both participants and fellow team members. Most importantly, you lead by example and share our commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred support.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Minimum 12 months' experience in a leadership, mentoring, supervisory, rostering, coordination or senior support role
Demonstrated experience working as a Disability Support Practitioner
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Experience with NDIS-related administration and service delivery requirements
Experience supporting individuals with personal care needs
Medication administration experience
Manual handling experience supporting people with limited mobility
Ability to work independently, within a team environment and in a supervisory capacity
Demonstrated understanding of participant rights, dignity, choice and person-centred practice
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with compliance documentation, incident reporting, risk management and service quality requirements
Flexible availability across a 24/7 rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings and weekends
Ability to participate in an after-hours on-call roster (approximately four evenings per fortnight, including alternate weekends)
Unrestricted rights to work in Australia
Access to a computer or laptop at home

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CHECKS
Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or higher
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current Working With Children Check
Current National Police Check (within the last three months) or willingness to obtain
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Current Australian Driver Licence
Registered and insured vehicle
Completion of NDIS Mandatory Training Modules:
Worker Orientation Module
New Worker NDIS Induction Module
Supporting Effective Communication
Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals
Willingness to provide a certified driving history from Service NSW
