About the Position:
Newington College is looking for a creative and outcomes driven permanent (0.6 FTE) STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) teacher to commence Term 3 2026 who is comfortable teaching through explicit direct instruction and inquiry-based models. This teacher should value collaboration with colleagues, be reflective and open to feedback and continual development, and believe in providing a rich learning experience for every child. This role is primarily a team-teaching position working in classrooms and the STEM space to develop and deliver outstanding STEM units. The successful candidate will work two days at the Lindfield campus and one day a week at our preparatory school in Stanmore, Wyvern House.
The successful applicant will be a team player who works well in a collaborative team and is constantly seeking to evolve their own teaching pedagogy. This teacher will also engage with the school community, promoting strong relationships, high levels of student interest, and effective learning outcomes for all students. The successful applicant will be reflective, self-aware, and understand the importance of using student data to inform their own teaching and learning as well as have a growth mindset. An ability and willingness to contribute to the pastoral care and co-curricular program will be required.

- degree in Primary Education or higher
- content knowledge and experience in Science, Technology and Engineering preferred
- minimum of 2 years teaching experience in primary education
- Demonstrated ability in adapting curriculum and lessons to student needs
- experience in developing and delivering interdisciplinary learning preferred.
- be a dynamic, innovative and successful classroom practitioner
- engage students in a vibrant Prep School education program at all levels
- utilise appropriate technologies to enhance student learning
- work effectively as a member of an enthusiastic team
