šŸ¤ About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Counsellor to join our team.

In this role, you will provide trauma‑informed counselling to women impacted by domestic and family violence, supporting their emotional wellbeing, safety, and recovery.

This is more than a counselling role — it’s an opportunity to be part of a supportive, dedicated team making a genuine difference in the community.

🌱 What You’ll Be Doing
  • Provide safe, supportive counselling to women impacted by domestic and family or sexual violence

  • Conduct holistic assessments, including mental health, trauma, and safety planning

  • Deliver evidence‑based, trauma‑informed therapeutic support tailored to each client

  • Walk alongside clients through crisis, recovery, and healing

  • Work collaboratively with other services to ensure coordinated care

  • Maintain respectful, confidential, and high‑quality client records

šŸ’› About You

You are empathetic, grounded, and committed to supporting women in a way that honours their strength, choice, and lived experience.

You will bring:

  • A Bachelor qualification in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field

  • Experience delivering mental health counselling using evidence‑based and trauma‑informed approaches

  • Professional membership (ACA, PACFA, APS, or AASW)

  • A current Queensland Blue Card and driver’s licence

Experience working in domestic and family violence or with vulnerable communities will be highly regarded.

✨ Why Join WCS?
  • Be part of a warm, supportive, and purpose‑driven team

  • Do meaningful work that creates lasting impact

  • Access professional supervision, ongoing learning, and development

  • Attractive salary packaging to increase your take‑home pay

  • Work in the beautiful Whitsunday region across Cannonvale and Bowen with access to up to $5,000 relocation allowance

At WCS, we are committed to creating a workplace culture that is respectful, inclusive, and empowering — for both our clients and our team.
