The opportunity
We are seeking experienced and compassionate Support Workers to join our specialised SIL team on a casual and part-time basis.
These roles support participants living with complex mental health diagnoses and psychosocial disabilities in our SIL homes, and require a high level of skill, emotional maturity, and professional experience.
We are actively recruiting both male and female Support Workers to ensure our participants are matched with the right person for their individual needs and preferences.

These are specialised roles. To be considered, you must have demonstrated, hands-on experience supporting individuals who present with behaviours of concern, including but not limited to:
Verbal aggression and behaviours of intimidation
Suicidal ideation and suicidality
Self-harm
You must also hold a relevant mental health qualification - such as a Certificate IV in Mental Health, Mental Health Peer Work, Community Services, or a related discipline - or equivalent formal education.
What the role involves
You will provide day-to-day support to participants in a SIL setting, including:
Practical daily living assistance including personal care and domestic tasks
Supporting participants to engage with their community, goals, and routines
Applying trauma-informed, person-centred approaches in all interactions
Implementing behaviour support plans and de-escalation strategies
Responding calmly and professionally to behaviours of concern
Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with the broader support team
Experience we're looking for
You'll bring genuine, hands-on experience working with people living with complex mental health conditions and psychosocial disabilities. This includes, but is not limited to:
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
Schizoaffective disorder and other psychotic conditions
PTSD and Complex PTSD (CPTSD)
Other personality disorders
Eating disorders
Dementia

Essential requirements
Relevant mental health or community services qualification (Certificate IV or higher)
Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with complex mental health and psychosocial disability needs
Proven ability to respond to behaviours of concern with professionalism and care
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
Working with Children Check
Current First Aid and CPR certificate
Valid Australian driver's licence and own reliable vehicle
