Sheet Metal Worker/ Metal Grader

West Coast Metals Recycling Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker/ Metal Grader to join our team. As a Sheet Metal Worker/ Metal Grader, you will be responsible for grading and sorting metal materials, operating machinery, and ensuring quality control standards are met. The ideal candidate will have experience in metal grading, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Task & responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications to determine job and material requirements.
• Select and check sheet metal stock (steel, aluminium, copper, etc.) against specifications.
• Mark out reference points and guidelines using templates and measuring tools.
• Cut sheet metal using hand tools, power shears, guillotines, drills, or CNC cutters.
• Shape and form components using presses, rollers, folding and bending machines.
• Assemble and join parts by welding, soldering, riveting or brazing.
• Finish products by polishing, filing, sanding, and cleaning.

Qualification & experience

• Previous experience in metal grading
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Physical strength and stamina
• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3), or at least three years of relevant experience
