Senior Risk & Compliance Specialist - Obligations & Governance

6 month contract with possibility of extension
A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced Risk & Compliance professional to join a growing governance function focused on obligations management, compliance oversight, and risk framework uplift.
This role will play a key part in the development and ongoing management of an organisational Obligations Register, ensuring legislative, regulatory, and policy obligations are accurately captured, maintained, monitored, and embedded across the business.
Working closely with operational leaders and key stakeholders, you will contribute to strengthening compliance practices, improving governance processes, and supporting organisation-wide risk awareness and accountability.
Key Responsibilities - Build, manage, and maintain the organisational Obligations Register across legislative, regulatory, and policy requirements
- Review and map compliance obligations, controls, and governance requirements across business areas
- Support risk framework uplift and continuous improvement initiatives
- Facilitate risk assessments, control reviews, and compliance reporting activities
- Prepare high-quality reporting for senior leadership, audit, and governance committees
- Partner with operational stakeholders to strengthen compliance awareness and accountability
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in governance processes, documentation, and reporting frameworks
About You - Demonstrated experience within risk, governance, compliance, or assurance environments
- Strong experience developing, managing, or maintaining Obligations Registers
- Sound understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks and risk management principles
- Excellent analytical, reporting, and documentation capability
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across multiple business areas
- Ability to interpret legislation, policy, and compliance requirements within complex environments
- Experience within government, infrastructure, utilities, financial services, or other regulated industries highly regarded
