Our Head Office is based in Melbourne CBD, with offices across Australia and Asia supporting a growing client base of leading residential builders, developers, architects, government bodies, and commercial and industrial organisations.

We are looking for an experienced autonomous Senior Payroll Officer to join our growing Finance team. We’re open to what works best for the right person - whether that’s full-time or something closer to an 8-day fortnight.

You will be responsible for the following:

  • End-to-end fortnightly payroll processing for 300 employees across Australia
  • Ensuring accurate, timely payroll in line with statutory requirements
  • Managing payroll across multiple entities, cost centres and projects
  • Processing new starters, terminations and payroll adjustments
  • Managing payroll queries and providing clear, timely support to employees
  • Monthly reconciliation and payment of superannuation and payroll tax
  • Completing end-of-year obligations including STP finalisation and state payroll tax reconciliations
  • Preparing payroll reporting, including labour costing and variance analysis
  • Interpreting and applying awards, contracts, overtime, penalties and allowances
  • Driving payroll compliance, process improvements, audits and system optimisation
We are looking for someone who has the following:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an autonomous end-to-end payroll role
  • Ideally a finance qualification and/or finance background
  • Experience with Infinite Cloud, Adaptive Insights (Workday) and NetSuite is desirable
  • Strong experience implementing and improving payroll processes and procedures
  • Solid knowledge of payroll tax obligations, including multi-state requirements
  • Strong technical payroll knowledge across leave, allowances, penalties, terminations, workers compensation, salary sacrifice and superannuation
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and systems skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience liaising with senior leaders highly regarded
