Join Queensland’s leading Molecular Genetics laboratory and contribute to the delivery of statewide genomic diagnostic services. This senior scientific opportunity will see you apply advanced molecular genetics expertise, provide scientific leadership and support complex testing programs that directly impact patient care across a broad range of clinical specialties.
The purpose of this role is to provide advanced scientific expertise and leadership within Molecular Genetics, applying independent scientific judgement to the performance, interpretation and reporting of complex molecular genetic testing while supporting high-quality statewide genomics services.
What you'll do
In this role you will perform, interpret and report complex molecular genetic testing, apply advanced scientific judgement to diagnostic investigations and problem solving, provide scientific leadership and technical guidance to laboratory staff, contribute to next generation sequencing and genomic testing services, support training and professional development activities, ensure compliance with NATA, ISO and TGA requirements, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders to deliver high-quality diagnostic outcomes across Queensland.
