About the role:

A pending retirement opens a position for a senior PA. As one of our IP Administrators, you will play a vital role in ensuring our local practice runs smoothly. You will be the backbone of our operations, delivering exceptional service to our clients and supporting our team with your expertise. Your attention to detail and organisational skills will be crucial in managing multiple tasks, deadlines, and communications effectively.

As a critical part of the engine room, some of your duties will include:

• Reviewing incoming correspondence and noting deadlines and actions to be taken, scheduling and managing deadlines, including using our IP database/ IT systems to update case information and manage critical deadlines;

• Preparing; coordinating and actioning accurate and compliant correspondence / documentation, including patent, design and trade mark filings;

• Support the team to manage respective patent and trade mark portfolios;

• Corresponding with clients and foreign associates regarding deadlines and formality matters;

• Responding to client phone, email and other queries promptly;

• guiding and training junior staff

About you:

We're looking for an enthusiastic individual who is eager to embrace challenges and make a difference in the field of intellectual property.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar IP administration role, with a strong focus on Patents and some exposure to Trademarks.

• Patents-focused experience is acceptable, with trademark experience being beneficial but not mandatory.

• Experience in IP administration may be gained from law firm environments, corporate IP departments, patent attorney offices, government IP offices, or any relevant IP environment.

• Demonstrated technical skills and a high level of organisational ability.

• Proficiency in IP database systems, patent filing software, Microsoft Office Suite, and legal case management systems is required.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all work.

• A proactive mindset with a strong desire to contribute to a collaborative team environment.

• Full time preferred, though open to part time working arrangements.
