The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer – Transport Planning & Advisory to provide technical expertise, project leadership, and client-focused solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative engineering outcomes while supporting business growth and strengthening client relationships.

As a Senior Engineer - TPA, you will lead and support the planning, analysis, and design of complex engineering projects. You will apply strong project management principles to deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within budget, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

You will also play a key role in driving commercial success, identifying new opportunities, and enhancing the organisation’s market presence.

Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver complex engineering designs to a high standard within tight timeframes

  • Apply advanced engineering principles to develop practical and cost-effective solutions

  • Conduct analysis, testing, and evaluation of engineering solutions

  • Prepare high-quality technical reports and undertake peer reviews

  • Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and risk management requirements

  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in engineering practices

  • Work closely with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure coordinated project delivery

  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to team members

  • Contribute to the commercial success and profitability of projects

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, supporting proposal development

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships

  • Enhance brand presence through professional engagement and delivery excellence

About You

Suitable applicants will be/have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering

  • Typically, 6–8 years’ relevant industry experience in TPA of major infrastructure projects

  • Chartered status (CPEng) and/or RPEQ (or at least working toward this)

  • Strong project management capability (budget, timeframe, and quality outcomes)

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly

  • Sound knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and specifications

  • Commercial awareness and problem-solving mindset

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment

  • High level of adaptability, initiative, and attention to detail

  • Proficiency in relevant engineering and business systems
