Role Title: Senior Data Engineer (Databricks & Azure)  
Location: Adelaide - Hybrid 
Role Type: Initial 3 months contract – potential to extend 
Ft/PT: Full Time 
Payrate: $100- $110 per hour plus super 
 
Role Overview 
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in Databricks, Python, and Azure to design, build, and optimize scalable data platforms that support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT solutions using Databricks, PySpark, Python, and SQL. 

• Build and maintain lakehouse/data warehouse solutions to support enterprise analytics. 

• Develop and optimize data models, Spark workloads, and SQL queries for performance and scalability. 

• Integrate data from multiple sources while ensuring data quality, governance, security, and reliability. 

• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable, business-focused data solutions. 

• Support CI/CD, automation, and data engineering best practices within Azure environments. 

Skills & Experience 

• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, Apache Spark, and PySpark. 

• Advanced Python and SQL skills with experience in data transformation and performance optimization. 

• Experience designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines and modern data platforms. 

• Strong understanding of data modelling, data warehousing, and lakehouse architectures. 

• Experience working with Microsoft Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, and Synapse Analytics. 

• Experience implementing data governance, security, and data quality frameworks. 

• Good communication and stakeholder management skills. 

Nice to Have 

• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code 

• Databricks and/or Azure certifications (not mandatory)
