We are partnering with a leading financial services organisation to recruit a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to play a key role in advancing their enterprise security capability.

This is a highly technical, hands-on role focused on security engineering, cloud security, and project delivery across Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.

You will lead and contribute to a range of security uplift and transformation initiatives, designing and implementing scalable, modern security controls in a complex, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design and implement cloud and identity security controls (Azure, M365)
• Lead delivery of security uplift initiatives (Zero Trust, cloud migration, tooling)
• Engineer and optimise SIEM, EDR/XDR, and Defender platforms
• Develop detection use cases, automation, and security integrations
• Act as security SME across infrastructure and cloud projects
• Improve security posture, standards, and architecture patterns

Key Requirements:

• Strong experience in senior security engineering/cloud security roles
• Deep expertise across Azure & M365 security, including Entra ID, Conditional Access, PIM
• Hands-on with SIEM (Sentinel, Splunk) and EDR/XDR (Defender, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne)
• Experience with Defender suite, SOAR/automation, and detection engineering
• Solid understanding of network security, hybrid infrastructure, and vulnerability management
• Proven delivery of security projects and transformation initiatives
• Knowledge of APRA CPS 234 / NIST / ISO 27001

Desirable: Financial services experience, scripting (PowerShell/Python), relevant certifications (AZ-500, CISSP, etc.)
