About the role
REACH for Training is seeking an experienced Vocational Education and Training (VET) Trainer and Assessor to join our Hunter & Central Coast team on a contract basis (a minimum of 2-4 days a week).
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training and assessment for our Individual Support (Ageing and Disability) qualifications to help students develop the skills and knowledge needed for a rewarding career in the aged care and disability support sectors.
What you'll be doing
1. Preparing and delivering engaging classroom-based and online training sessions
2. Conducting comprehensive skills assessments to evaluate student competency
3. Providing individualised support and feedback to students throughout their learning journey
4. Ensuring training and assessment practices comply with relevant standards and regulations
5. Contributing to the continuous improvement of training materials and assessment tools
What we're looking for
1. Relevant vocational qualification in Individual Support (Ageing & Disability) at a minimum of Certificate III level
2. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)
3. Preferred significant experience as a Trainer and Assessor in the vocational education and training sector, particularly in the aged care and disability support industries
4. Strong knowledge of the VET Quality Framework, training package requirements and assessment validation processes
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds
6. Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual classroom platforms like MS Teams
7. Recent industry experience (within last 2 years) in aged care or disability support sectors
