Risk Adviser

A well-established insurance brokerage in the Sydney CBD is looking to recruit a Risk Adviser within their broking division. This role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse $400k - $500k income portfolio of clients across industries, while being supported by a dynamic and collaborative team.

Key Duties

• Take ownership of a portfolio of corporate clients, delivering high-level service and advice across all general insurance requirements.
• Develop a deep understanding of client businesses, proactively identifying and managing insurance needs in order to prepare professional, detailed reports for new and existing clients.
• Use this understanding to arrange specialised insurance cover across levels of complexity to deliver a tailored insurance options and recommendations on the amount and type of cover required.
• Engage meaningfully with clients to effectively and comprehensively explain the insurance policy conditions, risks covered, premium rates and benefits of the cover being provided.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and referral partners to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
• Manage and maintain strong relationships with the insurers, and underwriters to ensure that a premium level of service is provided to clients.
• Proactively conduct annual pre-renewal meetings and internal strategy sessions where required to identify any change in the risk profile or insurance requirements.
• Provide clients with written confirmation of cover prior to expiry and detailed insurance manuals post-renewal.

Key Qualifications:

• Diploma of Insurance Broking is essential
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Require full time Sydney office based

Key Skills:

• Strong account management experience with confidence in handling complex corporate portfolios.
• Proficiency in understanding compliance frameworks and adhering to regulatory standards.
• Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
• Tech-savvy with experience using systems such as Microsoft Office, BMS – Insight, Sunrise Exchange & SCTP, Lucinda and Cova2.0 or similar.
• Adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
