As the Retail Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Seafood outlet. You will be responsible for managing staff, optimizing sales and profitability, ensuring strict adherence to food safety standards, and maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction. Task & responsibilities
- Store Operations: Manage daily retail as well as wholesale operations, ensuring the store is visually appealing, fully stocked, and meeting sales targets.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, roster, and mentor floor staff to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain high performance.
- Inventory & Stock Control: Monitor stock levels, manage relationships with suppliers, order fresh inventory, and implement waste-reduction strategies.
- Financial Performance: Manage the store budget, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze sales data, and implement promotional strategies to drive revenue.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations and food safety standards (including temperature controls and hygiene protocols).
- Customer Relations: Resolve customer inquiries and complaints promptly, fostering a loyal local customer.
- Policy & Strategy: Responsible for formulating and implementing purchasing and marketing policies, as well as setting competitive pricing structures to maximize profitability.
- Marketing & Promotion: Actively promote and advertise the establishment's goods and services to increase brand awareness and drive foot traffic within the highly competitive market
Qualification & experience
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Retail Manager, Store Manager, or in a similar leadership role within retail or hospitality (experience in fresh food or seafood retail is highly advantageous).
- Education: A relevant diploma or degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent practical experience).
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage, motivate, and lead a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of retail finance, inventory management, and sales strategies.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compliance Knowledge: Knowledge of food safety standards and handling perishable goods is highly desirable.
