Global Supermart Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to oversee operations at our Virginia, South Australia store. This is a full‑time position (38 hours per week) responsible for the overall operational performance of the supermarket. As the Retail Manager, you will take a hands‑on leadership role, managing daily operations and guiding our team to deliver exceptional customer service and strong business outcomes. You will be the key driver of store success, balancing people leadership, sales performance, stock management, and customer service excellence.

Task & responsibilities

• Oversee daily supermarket operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning
• Lead, supervise, and motivate staff to maintain high service and presentation standards
• Formulating and implementing purchasing and marketing policies, and setting prices
• Manage staff rosters, training, performance, and workplace culture
• Monitor stock levels, coordinate ordering, and maintain accurate inventory control
• Ensure compliance with WHS, food safety, and company policies
• Maintain store presentation, merchandising standards, and promotional displays
• Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and service escalations professionally
• Analyse sales performance and implement strategies to improve profitability
• Manage budgets, cost control, and operational KPIs
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders

Qualification & experience

• Completion of a relevant AQF‑level Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum two years experience as a Retail Manager
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail, especially when handling valuable merchandise
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities
