About the Role
The Refugee & Disability Employment Specialist is a frontline role within the Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) program. Reporting to the Hubs Manager, you’ll work collaboratively with the Refugee Disability Employment Advocate, Refugee Disability Community Advocate, and Post Placement Support teams to deliver holistic, participant-centred employment services.
In this role, you’ll work directly with referred job seekers to identify their employment goals and support them to overcome individual barriers using a strengths-based and holistic approach. Your focus will be on securing sustainable employment outcomes that align with each participant’s aspirations, abilities, and circumstances.
Operating across the full SSI IEA service delivery model, you’ll support participants in both flexible and intensive streams, adapting your approach throughout job preparation, placement, and on-the-job support phases.
Within the IEA DEED framework, you’ll ensure compliance with mutual obligations while maintaining strong participant engagement. You’ll also proactively engage in reverse marketing and job carving, working with employers to create tailored employment opportunities that match participant strengths.
Based in the Upper Mount Gravatt area, the role includes delivering one-on-one and group-based support, connecting participants to relevant training, targeted interventions, and ongoing coaching. Through this integrated approach, you’ll empower individuals to build confidence, improve workforce readiness, and achieve meaningful, long-term employment outcomes.
