Task & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee protected cropping activities from preparation through to harvest
• Monitor seasonal, environmental and market conditions to support crop productivity and profitability
• Prepare planting schedules and manage propagation activities including seedlings and crop establishment
• Maintain healthy crop growth through pruning, irrigation, nutrient management, and environmental control measures
• Organise harvesting, grading, packing and storage of produce for distribution and sale
• Implement pest, disease and weed management strategies to maintain crop quality
• Monitor and maintain irrigation systems, farm infrastructure, equipment and water resources
• Keep accurate operational and production records and assist with production forecasting and planning
• Support budgeting, resource allocation and day-to-day farm operational management
• Assist in maintaining food safety, quality assurance and workplace safety procedures
• Supervise and provide guidance to farm workers and contractors where required

Qualification & experience

Skills and Experience

• Relevant qualification in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related field, or equivalent industry experience
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in protected cropping, horticulture, or crop production
• Strong understanding of irrigation systems, crop management, and farm operations
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Good communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
