TROG Cancer Research is looking for a motivated Project Officer to join our team up to 35 hours per week.

For more than 35 years, TROG Cancer Research has conducted world-class research involving radiation medicine to improve outcomes and quality of life for people affected by cancer. We provide high quality clinical trial services accessible by any researcher, cooperative or pharmaceutical group. These services encompass the design, development and coordination of clinical trials within different oncology specialty areas including breast, lung, head/neck, skin, genitourinary, gastrointestinal and central nervous system.

We are seeking a proactive and organised Project Officer to join our Research Services team. This role offers the opportunity to support the coordination and delivery of national and international clinical trials across investigator-initiated, collaborative group and commercial studies.

About the role

The Project Officer will work closely with Clinical Research Associates (CRAs) and the wider study team to support the coordination of assigned clinical trials from study start-up through to close out.

The role involves a broad range of clinical trial coordination and administrative activities including:

  • Supporting ethics and governance submissions

  • Assisting with site start-up and activation activities

  • Maintaining trial documentation and Trial Master Files

  • Supporting data management and query resolution

  • Coordinating meetings, communications and study updates

  • Assisting with risked based monitoring and audit preparation activities

  • Liaising with study sites, investigators and external stakeholders

  • Supporting trial operations to ensure milestones and timelines are met

The successful applicant will work within a collaborative and experienced team environment while gaining exposure across all phases of the clinical trial lifecycle.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, nursing, science or a related field

  • Previous clinical trial experience within a research, CRO, hospital or pharmaceutical environment

  • Knowledge of ICH GCP, NHMRC National Statement, and ethical/regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail

  • The ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • A proactive and team-focused approach

  • Experience in oncology clinical trials will be highly regarded

  • Australian work rights are required for this position
