At CGI, we deliver technology solutions that strengthen critical maritime capability, modernise operations, and create lasting value for our clients. As a Project Manager within our Maritime Systems Integration team, you will play a key role in leading complex projects that connect advanced technologies with real-world operational outcomes across defence and commercial maritime environments. Working alongside talented experts, you will help drive innovation, shape strategic programmes, and deliver mission-critical solutions while building trusted client partnerships. We provide the support, autonomy, and opportunities needed to make a meaningful impact, develop your expertise, and contribute to the future of maritime technology in Australia.
Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.
In this role, you will lead the successful delivery of multiple maritime technology and systems integration projects across defence, government, and commercial maritime sectors. You will take ownership of project outcomes from initiation through to completion, managing schedules, budgets, risks, resources, and governance activities while ensuring the seamless integration of complex technologies into operational vessel environments.
Working closely with engineers, architects, cybersecurity specialists, shipyards, technology partners, and client stakeholders, you will drive collaboration, solve complex challenges, and ensure projects are delivered safely, securely, on time, and within budget. You will also play an important role in strengthening client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and contributing to the growth of CGI’s maritime capability.
Key responsibilities:
-Lead & Deliver multiple maritime systems integration projects from initiation to close-out.
-Plan & Govern project schedules, budgets, risks, reporting, and governance activities.
-Coordinate & Integrate IT, communications, networking, cybersecurity, OT, and mission systems across maritime platforms.
-Engage & Influence Defence, government, shipyard, OEM, and commercial maritime stakeholders.
-Manage & Support multidisciplinary delivery teams, vendors, and external partners.
-Oversee & Assure installation, testing, commissioning, acceptance, and transition-to-support activities.
-Monitor & Report project performance and provide updates to senior leadership and clients.
-Identify & Mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies.
-Manage & Optimise project financials, forecasting, procurement, and contractual obligations.
-Contribute & Grow business opportunities through client engagement and proposal support.
To succeed in this role, you will bring proven experience delivering complex maritime, defence, or technology integration projects within highly regulated environments. You will combine strong project management expertise with excellent stakeholder engagement skills and a solid understanding of maritime operations, systems integration, and enterprise technology delivery.
Essential qualifications and experience:
-urrent NV1 Security Clearance (mandatory).
-Proven experience delivering projects within Defence, Federal Government, or national security environments.
-Strong experience managing maritime, naval, shipbuilding, marine engineering, offshore, or port-related projects.
-Demonstrated background in systems integration, enterprise IT, infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, or digital transformation.
-Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with responsibility for budgets, schedules, resources, and vendors.
-Strong knowledge of project management methodologies including PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile, or hybrid delivery approaches.
-Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
-Understanding of vessel systems, shipboard operations, and maritime technology environments.
-Experience working with shipyards, fleet operators, naval programs, or maritime service providers.
Desirable qualifications:
-Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline.
