The Role
Reporting to the R&D Director, the Project and Production Manager will be responsible for establishing and scaling operations, integrating R & D and pilot production systems into commercial outputs, and designing feasible production processes to meet quality, safety and cost objectives.
This is a full-time leadership position within a specialised advanced materials processing environment.

Task & responsibilities
- Leading the design of a structured production framework to move laboratory-developed lithium-ion material recovery processes into repeatable and commercially scalable manufacturing workflows.
- Designing production schedules that balance material throughput, recovery efficiency, quality control standards and cost management as the company expands beyond R&D operations.
- Developing and Establishing plant operating procedures for modular processing systems, including determining safe operating parameters, maintenance cycles and equipment utilisation strategies within a specialised battery materials environment.
- Overseeing the optimisation of new processing modules and associated plant infrastructure when the company prepares for commercial-scale production.
- using research outputs to design standardised production protocols to ensure consistency in cathode and anode material refinement suitable for downstream battery manufacturers.
- Designing systems to monitor operational performance metrics including yield rates, material purity, process stability and cost per unit, and as well as developing process adjustments to reduce material loss.
- Building a structured production team to support the company’s planned scale-up
- designing systems to measure performance and to create operational reporting systems.
- Designing quality assurance and traceability systems appropriate for advanced materials processing and future supply chain integration.
- Coordinating occupational health and safety systems specific to chemical processing, battery materials handling and plant-based operations.
- Contributing to long-term production strategy planning aligned with Green Li-ion’s commercial expansion roadmap.
Qualification & experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Project and Production Management or senior leadership roles.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and establishing operations.
- Experience in advanced materials, chemical processing, clean technology, battery technology or similar manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of systems, planning, quality control and cost management.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage a team environment.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or related discipline will be highly regarded.
