Retail Pharmacist

You will work as part of a large, dynamic team that includes a Pharmacist Manager, pharmacists, dispensary technicians, and a separate front-of-shop team. The role involves supporting pharmacy operations to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical services.

As a Retail Pharmacist at Priceline Pharmacy, operating under JSMY Bendigo Pty Limited as trustee for JSMY Pharmacy Unit Trust 2 T/A PRICELINE PHARMACY BENDIGO MARKETPLACE, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the pharmacy within a professional healthcare environment. Your responsibilities will include dispensing medications, managing inventory, supporting aged care services, and delivering excellent customer service. Working in the medical and healthcare field, you will collaborate closely with pharmacists, healthcare professionals, and patients, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of medications and services. This is a key support role in a dynamic, fast-paced pharmacy setting where attention to detail, strong communication, and a commitment to patient care are essential.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Assist the pharmacist in dispensing medications accurately and safely

•    Provide health advice and over the counter (OTC) recommendations to patients

•    Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, and interactions under supervision

•    Participate in prescription checking and inventory management

•    Maintain Prescriptions files and help manage pharmacy records and documentation in compliance with legal standards

•    Support professional services such as medication reviews, vaccinations, and health screening clinics (as appropriate)

•    Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy workspace

•    Stay up to date with pharmacy laws, drug information, and best practices

•    Develop strong communication skills with patients and healthcare professionals

•    Supervising and coordinating the work of Pharmacy Technicians, pharmacy interns and Pharmacy Sales Assistant

•    Provide exceptional customer service with a strong awareness of customer needs.

•    Assisting customers with general queries and product information

•    Attend to general housekeeping duties and keep the dispensary clean, organised, and compliant with pharmacy standards

•    Support pharmacists and other team members in daily operations

•    Identify add-on sales opportunities and support in-store promotions

•    Follow all company procedures and polices

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

•    AQF bachelor's degree or higher qualification and a one-year traineeship (ANZSCO Skill Level 1).

•    Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience

•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills

•    Excellent attention to detail

•    Outstanding customer service skills

•    Ability to work well both independently and within a team

•    Friendly, reliable, and approachable demeanour

•    Strong organisational and time management skills

•    Proficiency in using pharmacy and general computer systems

•    Experience working with aged care facilities (preferred but not essential)

WORKING HOURS

Full-time position, 38 hours per week.
