Priceline Pharmacy Potts Point is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant. The Pharmacy Assistant will work under the supervision of the Pharmacist-in-Charge, Manager and registered pharmacists to support the safe, accurate and efficient preparation, dispensing and supply of prescription and non-prescription medicines.
Duties include:
Assist pharmacists with preparing, filling, labelling and organising prescription medicines for final pharmacist review.
Accurately enter and update patient, prescription and medication details in the pharmacy dispensing system.
Receive prescriptions, manage prescription workflow, and prepare completed prescriptions for patient collection.
Refer all clinical questions, medication counselling and therapeutic advice to the supervising pharmacist.
Assist with the supply of prescription and non-prescription medicines in accordance with pharmacy procedures.
Maintain dispensary stock, including ordering, receiving, checking, storing, rotating and replenishing medicines and medical supplies.
Monitor expiry dates, storage conditions, batch details and stock levels, including refrigerated or temperature-sensitive items.
Assist with inventory control, stocktake, invoice checking, supplier orders, owing prescriptions and out-of-stock items.
Support the preparation of medication packs or dose administration aids where offered by the pharmacy and supervised by a pharmacist.
Maintain accurate dispensary records and assist with prescription filing, medicine recalls, returns and expired stock procedures.
Maintain a clean, organised and compliant dispensary area in line with privacy, safety and pharmacy practice requirements.
Provide customer service relating to prescription status, stock availability and pharmacy services, while escalating clinical matters to the pharmacist.
Position Requirements:
At least 3 years of relevant experience is required.
Relevant qualification in pharmacy, health science, pharmaceutical science, or a related health/medical field is preferred.
Ability to work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and follow pharmacy procedures accurately.
Strong attention to detail, computer literacy, and ability to maintain accurate patient, prescription and stock records.
Good communication and customer service skills, with willingness to undertake further pharmacy and dispensary training as required.
