About Us

What You Will Be Doing

As an On-Road Collector, you will be on call, performing collections for commercial clients on site, conducting home visits, as well as travelling to Nursing Homes, Group Homes and facilities, collecting blood & coordinating specimen samples from patients. No day will be the same as you travel between different sites and patient homes to provide the highest quality of care.

You will need to be able to work autonomously as you will be conducting solo visits, but will have the support of your direct On-Road Collector team and wider area team.

You may also be required to work shifts at Lingard Hospital, working in a team across all wards including Paediatrics, Medical, ICU, CCU, Emergency, Oncology, Special Care Nursery, Maternity and Rehabilitation, using your empathy and drive to deliver great customer service and quality healthcare.

An important part of your role will include using your exceptional communication and relationship building skills as you liaise with doctors, nurses and patients to understand the needs and requirements of the environment and patient.

A day in the life of our On-Road and Hospital Collectors includes:

• Being on call
• Travelling between various locations to collect samples
• Helping elderly and sick patients who cannot travel to clinics
• Keeping meticulous records for every patient and sample
• Travelling to clinics to prepare and package specimens for transport and testing
• Delivering documentation within allocated timeframes
  
  
• Liaising & building effective relationships with a range of different stakeholders within the hospital including doctors, nurses, patients and couriers
• Advanced Pathology Collection - Collecting samples (blood and non-blood) across different wards & areas including Paediatrics, difficult bleeds and AGB's with care and attention
• Keeping meticulous records for every patient and sample

What Type of Person Will Be Successful

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Pathology Collector, or will have gained a Cert III and looking to embark on your Pathology Collection career!

These are the type of attributes & skills you would possess:

• A demonstrated experience and knowledge in Phlebotomy/ Certificate III in Pathology Collection
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a high level of empathy
• You are organised, with strong time management and attention to detail
• You are able to work autonomously, travelling between locations independently
• You are able and willing to travel to multiple locations
• You hold a valid Driver's license and have flexibility to travel to multiple clinics
• You hold a working with Children's Check or be willing to obtain one
• You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid visa with permission to work
  
  
  

A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required for this role. You must either hold an existing WWCC or be willing to obtain one prior to commencing employment.

• Vaccine preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B is a requirement of this role
