Hours: 38 hours per week, Full-Time

Task & responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be expected to perform the following duties that include but are not limited to:

• Prepare and bake a range of pastry goods including cakes, buns, cookies, pies, croissants, soft serve, and a variety of bread. 
• Decorating cakes using various techniques like glazing and spraying and creating unique designs and wedding cakes.
• Preparing fillings for pastries and shaping dough.
• Checking oven temperatures and the appearance of products to determine baking times.
• Managing the forming, baking, unloading, and cooling of bread, rolls, and pastries.
• Glazing buns and pastries and decorating cakes with cream and icing.
• Using machines to roll, mold dough, and cut biscuits.
• Cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins, and other equipment.
• Keeping equipment clean and following safety rules.
• Checking the quality of raw materials and measuring ingredients.
• Having strong knowledge of food safety standards.
• Managing food preparation and reducing waste.
• Setting a good example in a busy environment and promoting a team culture.
• Working with the team to create new products and menu items.
• Helping to plan production schedules and making sure all products meet business standards.

Qualification & experience

Experience & Qualification

• A formal qualification in Patisserie or a related field (minimum Certificate IV in Patisserie or equivalent).
• At least 3 year of professional experience in a similar role..
