BRP Industries is seeking an experienced Optical Fibre Technician to join the team!

BRP Industries is a Family-owned business, with a respected name in the telecommunications industry. Based on the Central Coast NSW, with work locally and away.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Working in existing live FTP's and joints.

• Working on Live carrier fibre networks.

Essential requirement for previous experience working on live carrier fibre networks.

• Ability to read and understand Single Line Diagrams (SLD).

• Preparation of optical fibre cables into various enclosures.

• Interpret site drawings and technical documentation for installation.

• Inspection and handling of optical fibre patch leads and connectors.

• Fault finding and repairs.

• Fibre splicing, Stranded and Ribbon.

• Use OTDR, power meter and light source equipment.

Basic knowledge of OTDR equipment operation is acceptable.

• Internal and external cable hauling.

• Provide technical support and expert guidance to management team.

• Ability to complete workbooks and handover documentation.

• Ensure all work meets industry standards and safety requirements.

What You'll Need:

• Valid Driver's Licence

• Construction White Card

• Current Australian Cabling Licence (Open Registration) with Fibre Endorsements.

• Fibre Optic installation/testing experience

Minimum 3-5 years of fibre optic installation/testing experience required.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

• Work may include working away and overtime hours (allowances and OT paid)

Highly Regarded Skills & Qualifications:

• NV1 security clearance or ability to apply.

• Cert II in Telecommunications.

• Current First Aid and CPR certificate.

• ICTCBL208, Splice and Terminate optical fibre for carriers and service providers.

• ICTCBL3010A, ICTCBL3010B or ICTCBL302, Install and terminate optical fibre cable on customer premises.
