The Opportunity:
Role: Operations Supervisor - Afternoon Shift
Location: Dandenong, Victoria
Expected Hours of Work: Monday - Friday 2:00 pm -10:20pm (40 hours)
Reporting directly to the PM Operations Manager this role is responsible for supporting the smooth operations for our PM shift at the Dandenong depot. The successful applicant will control and ensure loading/unloading operational functions are completed safely, efficiently and according to time schedules while monitoring labour requirements.
Some of the key Responsibilities:
Efficient Freight Operations: Ensure safe, timely delivery of freight with zero delays or losses, in line with company procedures.
Team Leadership: Supervise and guide your team of drivers, forklift operators, and dockhands—ensure tasks are set and managed effectively.
Problem-Solving: Handle job reschedules and freight exceptions to maintain the highest operational standards.
Recruitment & Training: Participate in recruitment, interviews, inductions, and provide training for corrective actions.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all policies, safety regulations, and fatigue management laws are adhered to.
Operational Coordination: Oversee inbound and outbound freight movements, maintain security, and manage documentation.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
2+ years experience in transport/logistics (essential)
Forklift licence (essential)
Strong understanding of transport laws, fatigue management, and safety requirements
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to solving problems
Experience with scheduling trucks and drivers, as well as knowledge of trailer configurations and mass management
IT literate and able to work with basic admin tasks
Comprehensive understanding of both Victorian regional transport routes and Chain of Responsibility laws is required
This is a full time salaried position with remuneration dependent upon experience and qualifications.
