About the Role

This is a full-time on-site position based in Whyalla, SA.

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating operational activities across our fabrication and manufacturing operations. You will ensure workflows are efficient, teams are supported, safety standards are maintained, and operational targets are achieved.

Task & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily business operations within the steel fabrication facility

• Coordinate workflow planning, scheduling and resource allocation

• Supervise operational staff and provide leadership across production teams

• Monitor operational performance, productivity and KPIs

• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and company policies

• Implement and maintain quality assurance procedures and manufacturing standards

• Liaise with management, suppliers and production personnel to meet operational objectives

• Monitor inventory, materials and equipment usage

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency

• Assist with budgeting, operational reporting and business planning activities

Qualification & experience

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Operations Manager or similar management role within manufacturing, fabrication, industrial or engineering environments

• Demonstrated experience managing staff, workflows and operational processes

• Knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and quality assurance standards

• Experience working towards operational targets and KPIs

• Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

• Current Australian driver’s licence

• Full working rights in Australia

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

• Qualification in Operations Management, Business Management, Engineering, Manufacturing or related field

• Experience within steel fabrication or heavy industrial operations

• Experience with inventory management and production scheduling systems

• Understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes
