Mobile Screening was established in 1980 and has become a national provider of onsite workplace screening services to assist employers meet their work health and safety obligations and the implementation of employee wellbeing initiatives. Our services include noise assessments, hearing tests, air quality assessments, spirometry, skin checks and drug and alcohol screening.
We have thousands of active clients which diverse in industry (agriculture to food manufacturing to aviation), size (multinational, ASX listed and SMEs) and location (metropolitan, regional and remote).
A few things to know first
This position is offered as a short-term contract or casual role, to fill a maternity leave cover.
The ideal candidate will be based in the Sydney metropolitan area, where the majority of our clients are located, and be willing to travel regionally or interstate when required.
An extended fixed term or ongoing contract (part time or full time) may be considered for the right candidate, depending on the business needs at the time.
About the opportunity
We are seeking occupational hygienists or environmental scientists (or similar) who are skilled or interested in air quality assessments and/or noise assessments. Some experience is welcome, as you will need to hit the ground running.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Undertake personal and environmental air quality sampling, noise assessments or lighting (lux) assessments according to our standard operating procedures.
Review of results, comparison with workplace exposure standards (or similar) and report preparation for senior review.
Provide advice to clients on control strategies and compliance with relevant regulations or codes of practice.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
Ideally 3+ years of relevant experience in or a related field to air quality or noise assessment.
Degree in environmental science / related discipline OR relevant training such as occupational hygiene. Qualifications may include any tertiary qualification relevant to environmental or occupational health sciences.
Ability to write reports, based on data collected in the field and interpret results from laboratories.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to travel within New South Wales and occasionally interstate to visit a range of clients. Driver's license must hold a full driver's licence to conduct field-based visits.
Australian citizenship or permanent residency required.
