Topgear Automotive is a reputable and growing automotive workshop in the heart of Adelaide. We are committed to delivering high-quality mechanical services and outstanding customer care. We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Motor Mechanics to join our professional team at our Main North Road workshop. We are a RAA approved mechanical repairers, MTA member and Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) member.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity offering job security, career growth, and a supportive workplace culture. The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out servicing, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a range of light vehicles and mobile equipment while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Servicing vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workshop standards
Performing scheduled maintenance including oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups
Diagnosing and repairing electrical systems, including ignition, lighting, instrumentation, and fuel injection systems
Diagnosing, repairing, and overhauling engines, transmissions, fuel systems, electrical systems, and related vehicle components
Repairing and maintaining brakes, suspension, exhaust systems, hydraulic systems, and ignition systems
Carrying out tune-ups, brake servicing, and preventative maintenance work
Reassembling, testing, cleaning, and adjusting repaired components using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment
Maintaining workshop tools, machinery, and equipment in safe working condition
Ensuring the workshop remains clean, organised, and compliant with workplace safety standards
Following all occupational health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE
Qualifications & Experience
Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology
Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience as a Motor Mechanic
Experience servicing and repairing light vehicles
Strong understanding of preventative and reliability-centred maintenance
Commitment to workplace health and safety procedures, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
Sound mechanical knowledge and workshop terminology
Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
Current Australian driver’s licence, or the ability to obtain one within one month of commencement
Good Communication Skills
