THE ROLE
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our workshop operations. The successful applicant will maintain, test and repair petrol engines and mechanical components of lightweight motor vehicles including transmissions, suspension, steering and braking systems. The role also involves vehicle fit-out and assembly-related mechanical work associated with specialised vehicle manufacturing.

• Full-time permanent role based in South Windsor, NSW.
• Standard ordinary hours are 38 hours per week, with reasonable overtime as required.
• Superannuation and statutory entitlements provided in accordance with Australian workplace laws.
• Supportive workshop environment with opportunities for ongoing professional development.
• Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle components.
• Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components for inspection and repair.
• Repair and replace worn or defective parts and reassemble mechanical components.
• Perform scheduled servicing, maintenance and tune-ups.
• Test and adjust mechanical systems following repair work.
• Use computerised diagnostic equipment and service manuals to identify faults and ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications.
• Service and repair cooling, steering, braking, exhaust and suspension systems.
• Strip vehicle interiors in preparation for fit-out and assembly works.
• Install brackets, piping, valves, couplings and accessories under chassis and on cab roofs.
• Run electrical harnesses between cab chassis along chassis rails.
• Read and interpret mechanical and assembly drawings and specifications.
• Maintain accurate workshop and assembly documentation.
• Ensure all work complies with workplace health and safety standards.
• AQF Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum three years relevant post-qualification experience as a Motor Mechanic.
• Demonstrated diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Experience using automotive diagnostic equipment.
• Current driver's licence.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and assembly drawings.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
