Formula Honda Glen Osmond is seeking a full-time Motor Mechanic to join our growing workshop.
The Motor Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of light vehicles and related products in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards. This role requires a technically skilled professional capable of performing complex diagnostics, completing repairs efficiently, and ensuring all vehicles serviced meet the company’s high standards of quality, safety, and performance.

Task & responsibilities
The Motor Mechanic's responsibilities and tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Detect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical faults in vehicle engines, transmissions, braking, steering, and suspension systems.
- Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, gearboxes, clutches, and other mechanical components for inspection, repair, or replacement.
- Reassemble and test mechanical systems and components in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct routine vehicle servicing, including oil and filter changes, lubrication, and safety inspections.
- Perform engine tuning and adjustments to optimise performance, fuel efficiency, and emissions.
- Use diagnostic tools, scanning equipment, and technical manuals to identify faults and carry out effective repairs.
- Inspect vehicles to assess roadworthiness and document required repairs or replacements.
- Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices in safe and operational condition.
- Accurately complete service reports, repair orders, and job cards in a timely manner.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, and customers regarding diagnostics, repairs, and progress.
- Provide technical advice and repair estimates when required.
- Work collaboratively with other mechanics and technicians to complete complex tasks efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
Qualification & experience
Required Qualification & Experience
- A Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or Motorcycle Technology or equivalent qualification + 2 years of experience or a Cert IV.
- Minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience, preferably gained in a power sports or automotive workshop environment.
- Proven ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain light vehicles and related products.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic and testing equipment, interpreting technical manuals, and applying fault-finding procedures.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
- Sound communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid Australian driver’s licence (or ability to obtain one).
