Coonamble Aboriginal Health Service (CAHS) is seeking an enthusiastic person to fill the full-time position of Men's Wellness Facilitator to work at Coonamble. This role will work closely with the Men's Wellness Project Officer and support the Men's Wellness facilitator trainee in the delivery of the men’s wellness program.
The Bear, The Dinawan and The Ram men’s wellness program engages with men from across the Coonamble shire, inclusive of Gulargambone and Quambone to provide a range of opportunities through a combination of one-on-one sessions, group sessions, cultural activities, men’s camps, wellness sessions, alcohol and other drug (AOD) support, parental support, counselling and therapy, health and legal education, suicide awareness training and education, domestic family violence support, gender equality and LGBTQIA+ support, by offering these opportunities. Critical to this role is the ability to develop, implement, and oversee culturally tailored programs and interventions that address critical health and wellbeing issues including living skills and provide cultural safety and education, which contributes to understanding of the well-being needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men.

Key Selection Criteria
Identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander with ability to provide proof of Aboriginality (mandatory),
Relevant AQTF certificate in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or a combination of experience, expertise, and competence as a men's wellness facilitator or men’s health facilitator role (or currently studying towards or a recent graduate)
Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues
An ability to work in a professional manner, i.e., confidential, non-judgmental, non-directive with participant and their families
Well-developed communication skills, including cross-cultural communication
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, independently, and with strong organisational skills
Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Demonstrates a commitment to the CAHS code of conduct, equal employment opportunity, work health & safety and cultural safety framework
Current nationally coordinated criminal history check, NSW working with children’s check and unrestricted class C or P2 driver’s license
Desirable
Experience working in an Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation or providing community health to Aboriginal communities
