About the role 

We are seeking a Mechanical Technician to join our team at Eneabba. We are looking for applicants with a demonstrated ability to organise, proactively prioritise, and complete tasks under limited supervision.  This fast-paced role will require a high level of attention to detail with exceptional teamwork and communication skills. 

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Coordinator, the primary function of the role is to assist in the optimisation of plant availability by carrying out on-site scheduled mechanical maintenance and attending to and minimising plant breakdowns. 

Key accountabilities will include: 

  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance inspections 

  • Carry out troubleshooting and diagnostic analysis 

  • Solve reliability issues using fault-finding abilities 

  • Continual assessment and improvement of the process, equipment and procedures

About You 

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • High standards of behaviour that align with Iluka’s values 

  • A mechanical trade certificate 

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the mining industry in maintaining fixed plant equipment, Warman pumps, conveyors, screens, sizers, chutes, hoppers, general steel fabrication, pipe work fabrication/welding and scoping of jobs 

  • Pump rebuild experience highly desirable 

  • Good numerical, literacy and computer skills with proficiency in SAP or similar 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team, while also demonstrating initiative and an ability to work independently 

  • Unrestricted WA C Class Drivers Licence 

Desirable Criteria 

  • ​HR licence 

  • High risk tickets - Crane ticket (CN), Dogman (DG), Forklift (LF), Work platform (EWP) 

  • Experience with Confined Space and Working at Height also preferred but not essential
