Silverstone is currently seeking an experienced
Mechanical Leading Hand to support our Lithium Mining client. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a leadership position on a well-established lithium operation, working across both crushing and process plant environments.
Duties: - Strong fixed‑plant mechanical knowledge across crushing circuits and/or wet processing (e.g., conveyors, pumps, screens, crushers, cyclones, flotation cells).
- Ability to lead a small multidisciplinary team safely and effectively (confident, proactive, good communicator).
- Competent in fault‑finding, breakdown management, and coordinating planned maintenance activities.
- Familiarity with isolation procedures, permit systems, and safe work practices.
- Comfortable working with work management systems (Pronto) including raising notifications, work orders, and completing shift reports/handovers.
- Good computer literacy (scopes of work, handover notes, basic reporting).
- Strong focus on safety leadership and promoting positive behaviours within the team.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and support the supervisor in daily coordination of tasks.
- Willingness and capability to rotate between plant areas depending on operational needs.
Requirements: - Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Certificate
- Proven experience in mineral processing environments including strong knowledge of fixed plant equipment (crushers, conveyors, pumps, screens, cyclones, flotation cells)
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
- S26 exposure, module completion, and working towards certification
- Strong fault-finding and breakdown maintenance capability
- Experience with work management systems (e.g., Pronto)
- Sound understanding of isolation procedures and permit systems
- Current Driver's Licence
- Current National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
