$80,000 - $110,000 Annual

Tests and evaluates mechanical systems, gathers and analyses data, and assembles and installs mechanical components.

Task & responsibilities

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical issues on plant facilities and machineries.
  • Test and evaluate automobiles and machineries to assess their performance, efficiency, and safety, including measuring parameters such as handling, fuel consumption, emissions and electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Assemble and install new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems!
  • Inspect and ensure that automobiles and machines meet quality and safety standards and specifications.
  • Organise and perform routine preventative maintenance and record/maintain reports on relevant database tools and systems.
  • Consult with the team and manager on any complex issues and repairs, rebuilds and assembling.
  • Assist mechanical engineers and engineering technicians in designing mechanical equipment and plants.
  • Analyze data and perform tests to access issues and recommend appropriate solutions, not limited to estimating machine costs and requirements.
  • Ensure designs and jobs are completed within specifications and correct contract provisions.
  • Ensure all activities are in accordance with company and regulatory standards and policies.
  • Collaborate and develop improved methods and modifications and provide technical support to assist in resolving complex technical issues.
  • Record and report any alterations to the equipment and processes on the work management system.
  • Assist the team and manager on other activities within the role required by the company policies, procedure and directives.
  • Ensure safety practices are followed including reporting any incidents and hazards to the manager.

Qualification & experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Engineering Technician role or relevant trade certificate
  • Knowledge related to inspecting and repairing diesel, gas and electrical vehicles
  • Technically and solution minded
  • Can do attitude and ability to be a team player working with cross discipline engineers as well as non-technical stakeholders.
