The candidate must have a Diploma or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least one year of relevant work experience.
In the capacity of a Mechanical Engineering Technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting engineering and manufacturing operations. The responsibilities will encompass a broad range of technical and coordination tasks, including but not limited to:
Developing, reviewing, and interpreting detailed mechanical drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications to facilitate precision machining and fabrication workflows.
Collaborating with design engineers to clarify drawing requirements and ensure the manufacturability of components.
Preparing cost estimates and technical quotations for machining and fabrication projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry standards.
Assisting engineering teams in identifying and sourcing suitable tools, machinery, and raw materials tailored to specific project needs.
Providing input on tooling setups and fabrication methods to optimise efficiency and reduce waste.
Supporting engineers with documentation, project scheduling, and resource coordination across machining operations.
Coordinating daily workshop activities and aligning production schedules with client delivery timelines.
Liaising with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless workflow and timely completion of tasks.
Monitoring and coordinating client job orders, ensuring production aligns with technical drawings and engineering requirements.
Performing dimensional and visual inspections of machined parts using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs.
Verifying that finished components meet design tolerances, safety standards, and quality benchmarks.
Gathering operational data from CNC machines and other production equipment to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
Preparing technical reports and presenting findings to engineering staff to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Assisting in the mechanical assembly, installation, and functional testing of components and systems, ensuring proper alignment and operation.
Supporting troubleshooting efforts during prototype development and final commissioning phases.
