As we continue our growth journey, we’re looking for a committed Mechanical Design Engineer support our engineering department

About the role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer - Automotive Design at Bus4x4 Global, you will play a key role in the design and development of our innovative off-road vehicles. In this full-time position based in Rocklea, Queensland, you will use your technical expertise to create cutting-edge mechanical solutions that enhance the performance, safety and durability of our products.

What you'll be doing

1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new mechanical components and systems for our off-road vehicles

2. Conduct detailed design analysis, testing, and validation to ensure designs meet or exceed performance and safety requirements

3. Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and documentation to support the manufacturing and assembly processes

4. Identify and resolve technical issues, proposing and implementing design improvements

5. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and computer science

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the automotive or off-road vehicle industry

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks is specifically required for this position

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills

• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines

• Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a team environment

• Exposure to FEA will be a definite advantage

• Familiarity with design for manufacturing and assembly principles
