With their state-of-the-art plant entering its final development phase, they need a maintenance engineer to join and elevate their current team.
About the Role: Are you an experienced Mechanical Maintenance professional ready to take the next step into operational leadership with an outstanding innovative technology organisation.
We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join our industrial plant team. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager with a dotted line to the Engineering Manager. This this dual-focused position that balances mechanical engineering, fabrication, and preventative diagnostics with operational leadership. You will help lead shifts, support the plant manager in driving site safety and efficiency, and will naturally progress into the site's Second-in-Charge (2IC).
Key Responsibilities: -
Hands-on Mechanical Maintenance: Maintain, diagnose, and repair pumps, conveyors, valves, and rotating equipment to minimise downtime.

Workshop & Projects: Undertake general fabrication, manage spare parts inventory, and support plant modification/commissioning projects..

Operational Leadership: Act as the site 2IC and step up as Shift Leader when required to coordinate production and mentor operators.

TPM Development: Develop, implement, and continuously improve our Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) programs

Safety & Compliance: Champion site OH&S systems, including risk assessments, permits, and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) protocols.
What you will bring to the role: - Proven maintenance experience within an industrial or process plant environment.
- Strong mechanical diagnostic and repair skills (pumps, conveyors, rotating equipment).
- Experience building or optimizing preventative maintenance systems.
- Practical fabrication and workshop skills.
- The communication skills and leadership potential required to step into a 2IC/Shift Leader capacity.
- Proficiency with maintenance tracking software (CMMS) and MS Office.
- Any licenses, certifications or tickets desirable
- Electrical fault-finding capabilities are highly desirable, but not essential.
This position offers a unique pathway for a mechanical engineer to develop your existing skills and abilities & transition into a critical leadership position. You will have a direct impact on shaping their maintenance culture, plant reliability working closely with senior management. There will also be a further opportunity to work on new development plants with the next one being based in Toowoomba QLD.
